CHIKUSON DENIM STUDIO is a place where you create a pair of jeans

that is uniquely your own.

Crafted around Japanese denim and Japanese artisanal skill,

we make a one-of-a-kind pair of jeans found nowhere else in the world.

What we aim to offer is more than just the finished denim.

The time spent choosing, the time spent pondering, the time hands-on,

the interactions with artisans, and the exact moment you put on your completed pair for the very first time.

We want you to take home the entire experience

ABOUT CHIKUSON DENIM

JAPANESE DENIM

Made in Kojima, Okayama, this 12.4 oz selvedge denim is slowly woven using traditional shuttle looms.

By intentionally choosing low-speed weaving over modern efficiency, the fabric acquires subtle slubs and a tactile texture, giving it a distinct vintage-inspired character.

It is sewn in a small workshop run by a husband and wife who have spent decades perfecting the art of denim crafting—painstakingly tailoring each pair one by one.

Left raw and unwashed, the rigid finish gradually reveals the unique depth and character that only true selvedge denim develops over time.

An exclusive experience where you craft a one-of-a-kind pair of jeans with your own hands.

Choose your favorite hardware from over 50 varieties of rivets and buttons, and press them into place yourself.

We also offer an array of customization options—including leather patches, embroidery, and woven patches.

Through custom details, bring your vision to life and create a pair of denim that is unmistakably yours.

Denim Experience Process

STEP 1: Select Your Denim

First, we will introduce you to the craftsmanship and history behind Japanese denim, as well as the step-by-step process of customizing your pair.

Next, you will choose your preferred fit and size from two classic silhouettes:

Straight or Baggy.

STEP 2: Choose Your Hardware & Details

Select your favorite rivets, buttons,

and leather patch.

You can also opt for additional custom details, such as embroidery, woven patches, or a tab label, according to your preference.

As you decide on each detail, your personalized pair of denim begins to take shape.

STEP 3: Customize

Set your chosen rivets and buttons into the hand press, then attach them directly to your denim.

It is a rewarding process that builds a personal connection to your pair as you enjoy the art of customization.
